Neighbors and supporters,

We need to be very clear: this is our final opportunity to stop Hawk’s Landing.

Over the past week, we have vetted multiple attorneys to explore filing a judicial review of the APC’s February 23 approval.

Today, we met with an attorney that we were extremely impressed with. She has deep knowledge of Indiana zoning law and the judicial review process, and she has handled cases like this before — including appeals that have gone all the way to the Indiana Supreme Court. Here is the reality:

Once the 30-day deadline to file for judicial review passes, Hawk’s Landing is approved. Forever.

There are 23 days remaining in that window. However, attorneys cannot simply file something at the last minute. They must obtain and review records, analyze legal issues, prepare arguments, and draft the petition. The attorney told us that in order to meet the statutory deadline, we must retain her firm no later than noon, March 6, 2026.

The required retainer is $30,000.

She has agreed that we can provide 50% by March 6 and the remaining 50% by March 25 (the 30 day filing deadline).

Yes — that number is significant. She acknowledged that. But she was candid about the scope and intensity of the work required to challenge a zoning approval in court. We spent 45 minutes with her, and we left the meeting believing she was sincere, direct, and acting in good faith.

We spoke with several highly regarded legal professionals. When asked if there was anyone better suited for this case, the overwhelming response was that she is the very best. We need the best. At this moment, we have two $5,000 commitments from Windridge neighbors.

Retaining an attorney gives us a fighting chance.

Doing nothing guarantees Hawk’s Landing will be built.

There is no extension. There is no second opportunity.
